Degree Apprentice Control Systems Engineer
Role
During your apprenticeship, you will undertake a wide range of duties and training that will build upon your academic qualifications to develop your practical skills.
You will work under the guidance of experienced colleagues within the Systems Integration team at our Burton upon Trent offices, and will collaborate with our colleagues from other group locations.
You will be encouraged to continue to develop your practical skills and knowledge through on-the-job training, further education and PDP opportunities.
You will learn to understand complex process control operations for manufacturing and utilities, and how to develop control software solutions to control such process, and provide visualisation for operators to control and view in real time.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure timely attendance to courses as agreed
with management. - Ensure that any work is completed to a satisfactory standard and handed in on time.
- Ensure all training courses included in Personal Development Plan (PDP) are attended / completed to a satisfactory standard.
- Ensure Engineering and Design activities meet all national and international standards, clients requirements and ‘best’ engineering practice.
- Production of functional design specifications (FDS),
configuration of PLC and SCADA software packages, factory testing, site testing and site based commissioning. - Working pro-actively as part of a team comprising different skillsets to ensure that planned work schedules and targets are met.
Training
- Apprentices will undertake a level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions Professional (Intergrated Degree) Apprenticeship. The training will be delivered by Estio Training Ltd.
- Teaching will be a mix of on the job and off the job training delivered remotely via on-line classes, whilst on premise at our Burton offices.
- Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, apprentices will achieve their BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions.
- Option to be kept on after completion of the apprenticeship programme.
