Network Engineer

In this role, you will be an integral part of our client's small infrastructure team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing their IT network. With a primary focus on network management, you will also have the opportunity to work on infrastructure and security projects, making this a diverse and challenging position.
What we're looking for:
Proficiency in managing and optimising network infrastructure, including virtual networks, cloud infrastructure, and WAN technologies.
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Strong knowledge of firewalls, routers, load balancers, and switches.
An understanding of security requirements and the ability to deploy updates within business guidelines.
Advanced knowledge of networking protocols, subnetting, VLANs, and VPNs.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
Experience in monitoring network performance and resolving bottlenecks.
Collaborating with the helpdesk team and educating them on network-related issues.
Desirable skills and experience:
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure & AWS cloud services.
Knowledge of Cisco Switches, FortiNet firewalls, Dell Servers, iDrac, Veeam, Zerto data resiliency platforms, and Rapid7.
Ability to analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents escalated by 1st /2nd line support.
Interaction with vendors for support escalations.
Familiarity with ITIL practises.
Ability to automate solutions through scripting.
Capability to plan and test pent test remediations.
Managing certificate updates across network services/devices.
