Data Architect
Data Architect required by a market leading, award winning, financial services organisation who have 9 UK sites. This will be remote role with 1-2 days a month onsite at one of our clients sites.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Data Architect to join an award-winning team within a leading financial services organisation. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact by designing and managing the data architecture that supports the business's digital transformation efforts.
The Data Architect will play a key role in shaping the company's data strategy and driving innovative data solutions across multiple business areas. The role offers a blend of business strategy, technical expertise, and creative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead data initiatives for a business digital transformation program, ensuring seamless data integration and usage across the organisation.
- Promote best practices for data management and embed a data-driven culture within the business.
- Foster relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable, secure data solutions.
- Develop and maintain a reference architecture to optimise data ingestion, storage, processing, reporting, and analytics.
- Support the rollout of the UK Data Strategy and contribute to the implementation of the strategic roadmap.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert, offering consultancy to the business and mentoring internal data teams.
- Ensure effective data governance, including metadata management, reference data management, and maintaining data estate reference architecture.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the data and financial services sectors.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in a data-focused role, such as Data Architect, Data Engineer, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or Data Modeller.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, AWS, Azure) or traditional databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, NoSQL, Hadoop).
- In-depth knowledge of data structures, data warehousing, data lakes, ETL/ELT processes, and big data technologies.
- Proficiency in data modeling, data product design, and the use of data development, ETL, and visualisation tools.
- Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and security requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a critical and analytical mindset.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences, from executives to development teams.
- Practical experience in building and executing a data strategy and roadmap.
- A desire to continuously learn and adapt to new data trends and technologies.
