Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage software releases across various teams and environments.
- Develop and maintain release plans, schedules, and documentation to ensure smooth deployment.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure all aspects of the release process are aligned.
- Monitor and report on release progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
- Implement and refine release management processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Conduct post-release reviews and retrospectives to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in version control and deployment processes.
- Manage the release calendar and communicate changes effectively to all teams involved.
- Proven experience as a Release Manager or similar role in software development.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and release management processes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Certification in release management or project management (e.g., PMI-ACP, Scrum Master) is a plus.
