Banner Lane is partnering with a pioneering high-tech defence electronics company to recruit a dedicated IT Specialist. Our client is a rapidly expanding SME renowned for developing and manufacturing custom Radio Frequency (RF) systems. These advanced systems serve a broad spectrum of applications across military, government, and commercial sectors, including broadcast, communications, GPS timing, and signal detection.

Role Purpose:
As an IT Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development, delivery, maintenance, and enhancement of the company’s IT systems and infrastructure. This includes both software and hardware components, with a significant focus on implementing robust security measures to safeguard our systems and data.

Key Responsibilities:

- IT Systems Management: Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of existing IT systems to ensure they are efficient and reliable.


- Workflow Automation: Streamline processes by integrating various systems, including production and engineering documentation, requirements management tools, ERP, and CRM systems.


- Infrastructure Support: Ensure the IT infrastructure is scalable and meets both current and future business needs, focusing on seamless hardware and software integration.


- System Upkeep: Manage the upkeep of all IT systems and equipment, including CRM, MS Office, and ERP systems.


- Training and Integration: Introduce new systems and train staff on both new and existing technologies.


- Hardware and Software Maintenance: Maintain all IT and communications hardware and software to ensure peak performance.


- Security Implementation: Ensure the security of all systems, data, and IT equipment, adhering to best practices and compliance standards.


- Application Development: Develop new applications and systems to enhance business operations.


- Networking and Hardware Management: Plan and maintain networking and hardware requirements to support organizational growth.

Skills and Experience Required:

- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of computer hardware and software systems.


- Operating Systems: Proficiency with Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems.


- System Integration: Experience with CRM (Salesforce) and ERP (Syspro) systems development and integration.


- MS Office Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office applications, including on-premise Exchange.


- IT Security: Experience in IT security practices, including anti-virus, data loss prevention, and data security/backups. Familiarity with NIST 800 and Cyber Essentials is a plus.


- Linux Systems: Knowledge of Linux systems is highly desirable.
