Band 7 Senior Performance Analyst

Job summary

The Senior Performance Analyst will be expected to build effective partnership relationships within the Trust and support the development of an information culture in the organisation. This is a strategically important role, leading on the development of the Trust's core data collections and will be responsible for the provision of the reporting infrastructure and developing submissions and reports accurately, consistently and effectively within the organisation. You will need to have excellent knowledge of the acute sector and how it works, together with strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.

You will need to be able to demonstrate a minimum of 4 years' experience working in an NHS Information role with at least 2 years in a senior role, with evidence of successful implementation of a technical project development within national submissions and reporting. There will be an expectation that the individual will have a flexible attitude and understand the job requirement for 7 day cover which will include weekend and bank holiday working and will be expect to work as part of team to support this. The successful applicant will be expected to fulfill the role of subject matter expert in accurately developing and maintaining a number of national collections but not limited to RTT, QMC0, EROC and WLMDS. The successful applicant will have trained and successfully qualified to an advanced level of SQL.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Performance Analyst will support the development and delivery of complex datasets, analysis services and reports to sustain the highest quality of reporting to NHS England, NHS Improvement and similar stakeholders both internal and external.

They attend Operational and Corporate meetings to provide advice and guidance on areas within their remit. They provide specialist advice and guidance on analysis of Trust data to support data submissions and collections, having a wide knowledge of how the NHS andBHRUT provide healthcare to patients.

The post holder will support the Lead for Corporate Submissions and Returns on the delivery of and implementation of Trust submissions and data collections, and validations for Trust datasets and develop and review intelligent monitoring, with triangulating of information across all domains of corporate activity.

The Elective Surgical Hub at King George Hospital is one of eight to be accredited as part of a national scheme; the Care Quality Commission has raised the ratings forurgent and emergency careat Queen's and King George hospitals; anddata released by NHS Englandshowed that the Trust was the most improved in 2023 for reducing waits for emergency care.

We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also part of the North East London Cancer Alliance.

Person Specification

Education/ Qualifications

Essential
  • Qualifications in SQL Server Analysis Services and Reporting Services or equivalent experience.
Desirable
  • Training in the use of QlikView or Qliksense.

Skills/ Abilities

Essential
  • n depth knowledge of performance returns, definitions, and guidance in the acute sector.
  • Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills, used to inform decision-making processes.
Desirable
  • Understanding of NHS data flows and information issues, including Data Standards, the Secondary Uses Service and commissioning information.

Experience/ Knowledge

Essential
  • Extensive experience of NHS Submissions and reporting.
  • Experience of Information Governance Toolkit compliance and submissions SQL Knowledge.
Desirable
  • Experience of working in a matrix management environment.
