Project Manager (Decommissioning),

12 month FTC, Remote or Hybrid. (must live within UK).

Salary between £65k and £78k depending on experience with first interviews taking place 4th and 5th July.

Our Client is going through an ambitious Digital Transformation (DT), enabling them to decommission their legacy estate.  They are looking for a senior Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of the decommissioning aspects of the programme. This exciting key role will require excellent project and stakeholder management skills and the successful candidate will work with our client and third-party technology partners to ensure overall success.This opportunity will suit an energetic enthusiastic individual, with experience of technical and decommissioning project management on large complex programmes.

The Job
Reporting to the DT Programme Manager, on a daily basis, your responsibilities will include having accountability for determining and implementing the optimal approach for organising and executing the decommissioning process by ensuring that IT teams and relevant third parties are involved in the planning required for the successful delivery of the decommissioning project.

Leading the decommissioning project from inception to execution. This includes planning, execution and managing the people, resources and scope of the project and undertake the planning, budgeting, reporting, and execution, managing dependencies and co-ordinating activities across dependent projects ensuring that the Decommissioning project is delivered on time, within budget and to the required specification.

The Person
I am looking for someone who has experience of managing decommissioning projects (Oracle preferable) and of Data Centre decommissioning with a knowledge of regulatory compliance matters associated to and required as a result of decommissioning Data Centres.

Knowledge of Dynamics D365 for F&O projects with a strong technical understanding of the following toolsets:

Sun Solaris, virtualisation, SAN / Oracle / Data Centre integration and Information Security requirements / Data handling in a DC decom project with knowledge of current regulations on the decom and disposal of equipment /
S/W & H/W Licensing.
