Data Scientist / Data Engineer

Role: Data Scientist 
Location: Nottinghamshire – Hybrid / 1 day every couple of weeks in the office.

You'll have the autonomy to own the data function, drive forward your own strategy, tools selection, and much more!

Key Responsibilities:

Data Pipeline Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process and analyze large datasets from diverse sources
• Implement and manage data workflows using tools such as AWS Glue, AWS Data Pipeline, and AWS Lambda.
• Utilize Hadoop frameworks for processing vast amounts of data using tools like Apache Spark and Hadoop on AWS EMR (Elastic MapReduce).

Data Modeling and Analysis:

• Set and monitor key product metrics to understand trends and measure the success of product efforts.
• Develop and validate statistical models and machine learning algorithms to address complex business problems.

Data Infrastructure:

• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure data infrastructure aligns with data science initiatives.
• Optimize and manage data storage solutions, including data warehouses (e.g., Redshift), data lakes (e.g., AWS S3), and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) on AWS.
• Utilize natural language processing (NLP) services for text analysis using AWS Comprehend.

Data Quality and Governance:

• Establish and enforce data quality standards and governance practices.
• Develop data validation and monitoring processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, and business stakeholders, to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights.
