Senior Programme Manager

We are searching for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Programme Manager with a strong background in managing large programmes of work which are centred around data integration, technical platforms and healthcare systems within the NHS.

The role is offered on a remote basis, and you can be based anywhere in the UK to be considered for the opportunity.

You will play an extensive role in overseeing the successful delivery of projects of many sizes, from single interface integration to cross-organisation interoperability programmes.

The team you will be joining is composed of a number of highly skilled professionals who have the extensive NHS experience required to ensure that the solutions provided are tailored to the needs of the healthcare sector.

Working as a Senior Programme Manager you will provide expert guidance and support to NHS Trusts and Integrated Care Systems (ICS) regarding the processing of patient data, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and reliability.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage large programmes of work focused on delivering projects from interface integration to cross-organisation interoperability programmes within the NHS.
  • Oversee the integration of data across various systems, ensuring seamless interoperability and efficient data flow.
  • Develop and implement alerting systems to promptly identify and address any failures or discrepancies in data points, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to NHS Trusts and Integrated Care Systems (ICS) on best practices for data management, governance, and compliance.
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for programme governance with assigned customers, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Manage escalations from customers, addressing issues promptly and effectively to ensure customer satisfaction and project success.
  • Oversee multiple smaller projects linked to assigned customers, ensuring alignment with overall programme goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical specialists, project managers, and customer support staff, to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues, providing regular updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Develop strong relationships with team members, partners, vendors and clients.
  • Manage resources to ensure timely and successful delivery of programmes.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of all parties (including external suppliers) involved in a programme.


Experience and Qualifications

  • PRINCE 2 and/or MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) or relevant experience gained from working in a Senior NHS based Programme Management role.
  • Proven experience in programme management, specifically within the NHS or the Healthcare sector with a focus on IT, data integration, technical platforms and/or Integrated Care Systems (ICS).
  • Strong understanding of NHS systems and data flows, with knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to successful completion.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrate an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high degree of adaptability and resilience.
