Join our team as the InfoFlex System Manager.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as our InfoFlex System Manager. The ideal candidate for this position needs to be an excellent problem solver with strong IT skills. They will need proven involvement in implementing change and projects and have good working knowledge of cancer surveillance systems. In addition, they should enjoy a challenge and be able to stay on top of several tasks simultaneously.

Main duties of the job

This role is part of the Trusts Informatics Team and will take overall responsibility for the management of the InfoFlex system, acting as the central point of contact for the Trust; including the production of statistical information, standard reports and ad-hoc queries. The post holder works closely colleagues across the Cancer Services and IT teams.

The InfoFlex System Manager would be responsible for the implementation and on-going maintenance of the system throughout the Trust, ensuring problems are resolved promptly and there is minimal downtime and disruption to any services within the Trust and wider health community in Bradford.

Job responsibilities

Bradford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust consists of buildings on two inner-city sites. The primary location is Bradford Royal Infirmary, which offers acute care. It houses the city's Accident and Emergency service, whilst St. Luke's Hospital houses many of the Trust's outpatient clinics, care of the elderly wards, and stroke rehabilitation ward. In addition, the Trust is a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Leeds.

This role is part of the Trusts Informatics team and will take overall responsibility for the management of the InfoFlex Cancer Surveillance Software application, acting as the central point of contact for the Trust, including the production of statistical information, standard reports and ad-hoc queries The post holder has responsibility for ensuring that the system is used correctly, and the coordination of training within & outside the Directorate in the use of InfoFlex, auditing & monitoring compliance with procedures. The system continues to be developed and the post holder will liaise with the manufacturer and users of the system to implement changes and upgrades in a timely manner.

The post holder will act as the single point of contact for enquiries from end users and co-ordinate with all planned upgrades to the system and act as a liaison during periods of unplanned downtime, or system performance problems

Knowledge

Essential
  • An understanding of the principles of Information Management.
  • Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
  • Adaptable and able to transfer technical knowledge and skills to meet new requirements of the organisation.
  • An understanding of the modern PC environment and operating systems
  • Knowledge of the Data protection act 1998.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server Environment and Networking
  • Knowledge of HL7

Experience

Essential
  • Proven involvement in implementing change and projects
  • Experience of database management
  • Working knowledge of cancer surveillance systems

  • Advanced IT Skills
  • Ability to produce complex reports using a current data information system

Qualifications

Essential
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation qualification, or willingness to obtain
  • Educated to degree standard in an information technology discipline or has the relevant work-based experience.
Desirable
  • Holds Computing qualification ITIL, Advanced ECDL or Microsoft qualification
  • Evidence of continuing professional development;
