IT Systems Project Manager

Job Overview: As an IT Systems Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of IT projects within our IT Services team. You will be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and budget of various technology initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills as you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive project success and deliver high-quality solutions.

Main duties of the job

  • Properly scope, define, and deliver projects within agreed timescales and budget.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ensure all stakeholders understand their roles within the project and work effectively.
  • Provide regular status reports and project updates to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present project materials including reports and progress updates.
  • Work closely with IT and Finance stakeholders on budget and other project-related issues.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for specific projects and provide exceptional stakeholder support throughout.
  • Collaborate with the IT team, Digital Project Manager, and Senior IT Leads.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate and lead project team meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Manage project risks and issues, developing contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
  • Track and report project status to senior management and stakeholders regularly.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely project milestones.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience as an IT Project Manager or similar role.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects.
  • Experience in managing projects related to software development, infrastructure deployment, or system integration.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, DPA 2018, IT systems, networking, and computer software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to convey complex IT projects to non-technical colleagues.
  • Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
  • Logical problem-solving skills and ability to operate under constraints.

Location: Hybrid working with travel to head office 1 -2 days per week. This may be more in the initial induction period or when required for meetings

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 Depending on Skills and Experience

Hours Per Week: 36 Hours full time

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 9am - 5pm and Friday 9am till 3.30pm

Qualifications

Essential
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project)
Desirable
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or other relevant certifications

Experience

Essential
  • Proven experience as an IT Project Manager or similar role, with a track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects
  • Experience in managing projects related to software development, infrastructure deployment, or system integration
  • GDPR and the DPA 2018
Desirable
  • Knowledge of IT budgeting processes
