Cyber Security Engineer

We are recruiting for a Higher Education organization, committed to protecting their digital assets and ensuring the security of their data and systems. Looking for a skilled and experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join a dynamic team.

Job Overview: As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect the organization's computer systems, networks, and data. You will work closely with IT and other departments to identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Conduct regular security assessments, including vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
• Monitor and analyze security alerts and reports, responding to security incidents promptly.
• Configure and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software.
• Conduct security awareness training for employees.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO/IEC 27001).
• Collaborate with IT teams to design secure network architectures.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions.
• Prepare and present security reports and recommendations to management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cyber security or a related role.
• Strong understanding of network security, operating systems, and software vulnerabilities.
• Experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
• Knowledge of cryptographic protocols and security frameworks.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., NIST, PCI-DSS).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Certifications:

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
• CompTIA Security+
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
