High Intensity CBT Therapist / Clinical Psychologist / Counselling Psychologist - Permanent & Fixed Term (full and part time posts considered)

We are looking for Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists and Cognitive Behavioural Therapists with experience of working with adults with a range of mental health difficulties to join our lively, dedicated and supportive iCope NHS Talking Therapies team (NHSTT formerly known as IAPT).

We have posts in both Camden and Islington. Some of the roles in Camden may involve working into the Long-Term Conditions Pathway. Some of the roles in Islington will be split across the core NHSTT team and the integrated long term conditions team. Roles offered with an LTC element will include training in CBT for Long Term Conditions.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a well-established, successful service providing assessment and psychological interventions, often in primary care settings, as part of the range of high intensity interventions we offer (which include CBT, EMDR, IPT, DIT, BCT and Counselling). You will also offer (or work towards offering) supervision to junior colleagues, and advice, consultation and training to other clinical colleagues as well as having the opportunity to contribute towards shaping and developing our service in partnership with our service users.

We are a well-established NHS Talking Therapies service with strong training and research links with University College London.We pride ourselves on offering a high level of in-house training and regular supervision from experienced clinicians. Posts are subject to criminal records disclosure andinvolve a mix of on site and remote working, travel across the borough andone evening clinic (to 8pm)per week. Starting salary will normally be at the minimum point of the salary scale.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential
  • Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology or HI training qualification
  • Eligible for BABCP accreditation or accredited

Experience

Essential
  • Experience of psychological assessment and treatment in IAPT recognised model
  • Experience in working with full range of clinical presentations seen in primary care
Desirable
  • Experience of supervision

Skills

Essential
  • Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups
  • Ability to communicate effectively
