Full Stack Developer - C++ & React - OUTSIDE IR35 - Hybrid/London

Job Title: Full Stack React & C++ Developer  
Location: Marylebone/Hybrid - 4 days per week onsite, but flexibility to work remotely once up and running. 
Salary/Rate: Up to £500/day OUTSIDE IR35 - with flexibility to go higher for the right candidate 
Start Date: 01/10/2024

Coltech is partnered with a prestigious trading client who are looking for an experienced Full Stack developer to join their team for a 6 month contract.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing features for a high-performance trading platform. You’ll work on both the backend, leveraging C++ for speed and efficiency, and the frontend, using React to create responsive and dynamic user interfaces. You will collaborate with a talented team of engineers, product managers, and traders to deliver highly scalable and reliable software solutions that meet the needs of an evolving market.

Key Skills/Experience

• Strong proficiency in C++ for backend development.
• Strong expertise in frontend development using React
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and memory management in C++.
• Experience with modern web development practices, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and WebSocket communication for real-time data updates.
• Knowledge of software development in the financial or trading industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with database technologies (SQL/NoSQL) and data handling.
• Knowledge of multi-threading, low-latency systems, and high-performance computing is advantageous.

Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, and maintain both frontend and backend components of the trading platform.
• Implement new features on the backend using C++ to optimise system performance.
• Build highly interactive and user-friendly frontend interfaces using React.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define project scope.
• Optimise and refactor code for scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Ensure the security, availability, and robustness of the system.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across the entire stack.
• Work closely with the trading and analytics teams to implement data-driven features.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for software engineering.
