Eligibility:
To apply for this role, you must either have SC Clearance or be able to obtain Security Clearance. This means you must be a British Citizen and have been living in the UK permanently for the last 5 years.
Role Overview:
As an Architect, you will be a part of a small, fast-paced, agile delivery team. Using agile methodology and DevOps techniques, you will design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure to support workloads for customers in the RAF.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft technical Statements of Requirements for cloud-native applications and platform solutions.
- Define and assess technical architecture and solutions.
- Define technical and business requirements.
- Produce high- and low-level technical designs.
- Produce high-level operating model designs.
- Define security controls and architecture in line with cloud and application security best practices.
- Define and select appropriate DevOps pipelines, processes, and tools.
- Select suitable coding languages, testing strategies, and tools.
- Define tools and practices for monitoring and supporting cloud applications.
- Define service management practices/processes.
- Architect and support the delivery of on-premise virtualization solutions (VMware ESX, vCenter).
- Architect and support the delivery of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS public cloud solutions (AWS & Azure).
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience with contemporary software engineering, including the selection and application of appropriate technology and patterns.
- Consultancy experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with RAF or MOD is highly desirable.
- Confidence in working within a team developing full-stack solutions.
- Experience in defining, installing, or supporting networking solutions.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices such as virtualization, containerization, CI/CD, and IaC.
- Experience working in agile environments using methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
