As the Electronics Design Engineer you will be responsible for the design of new products as well as maintaining and upgrading existing products.

You will manage design projects from a technical perspective from conception to volume manufacture.

Responsibilities and Duties

Produce practical, robust and cost-effective electronic designs with appropriate documentation
Schematic, PCB layout, mechanical and firmware design for the product
Specification of microcontroller for embedded systems and programming in C
Hand build and test of first prototype boards and direct junior engineers for support
Ensure full test and validation of the design to specification prior to release for manufacture
Test and report for compliance to the relevant standards
Create a production test solution
Lead DFM and support NPI
Work with Purchasing and suppliers so that designs can use the most appropriate cost effective technology
Mentor junior engineers to develop their skills
Engineering support for other parts of the business as required

Desired experience and skills
- Ideally 3+ years in a design environment
- Experience in design for manufacture environment.
- Experience of analogue and digital circuits and PCB layout.
- Programming in C for embedded design (Ideally STM32).
- Practical experience of hand building & debugging prototype circuits
- Knowledge of the following would be desirable
