LinuxSystem Engineer
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Systems Engineer, a pivotal role within our System Engineering team. You'll be instrumental in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the technical systems and infrastructure for both our customer-facing and corporate services (OSS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver continuous incremental improvement of systems and infrastructure.
- Take end-to-end ownership and responsibility of technical solutions.
- Engineer solutions to complex challenges and business requests.
- Deliver on shared team priorities.
- Coach and mentor team members, fostering their success.
- Act as a technical escalation point
- Document processes comprehensively to ensure team clarity.
- Drive tasks forward with energy and enthusiasm.
Essential Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in a commercial environment supporting the following:
- Expert in Linux Administration.
- Application support (e.g., PostgreSQL, Radius, DNS).
- Scripting experience (ideally Python and/or PowerShell).
- AWS (CloudFormation, Route53, S3, Lambda, Security, and troubleshooting).
- Automation tools (Puppet, Ansible, Git).
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnosis skills.
- Network and firewall knowledge.
- Familiarity with VMware and/or OpenStack.
- Experience with backup and replication technologies (ideally Veeam and Zerto).
- Structured change management and ITIL knowledge.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with common applications such as Apache, MSSQL, Postgres.
- Networking (TCP/IP, MPLS, VPN, VLANs, IPv6).
- Kubernetes and deployment pipelines.
- Exposure to public and private cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Familiarity with standards including ISO9001, ISO27001.
- Previous experience in a Telecoms business.
- Comfortable with a Kanban workload management approach.
- Good communication and influencing skills.
