Data Scientist

Location: Hybrid (minimum 1 day per month in Manchester and Liverpool, travel covered depending on home office location)
Salary: £40,000 - £47,000 per annum

About the Role: We are looking for a proactive and curious Data Scientist to join our client's growing team. In this role, you’ll work on diverse and impactful projects, collaborating closely with senior leaders to solve real-world problems. If you enjoy uncovering insights, creating innovative solutions, and working in a supportive, collaborative environment, this could be the role for you. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business teams to identify challenges and opportunities where data-driven solutions can add value.
  • Design and implement statistical analyses and models to solve complex problems, such as workforce performance, geographic targeting, and economic impact mapping.
  • Present findings to senior leadership and stakeholders through clear visualizations, reports, and presentations.
  • Explore and experiment with new methodologies to enhance project outcomes.
  • Continuously learn and develop, utilizing allocated L&D time to grow your expertise.
Essential Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong soft skills with a focus on curiosity, proactive problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement.
  • A drive to ask “why” and approach challenges with diverse perspectives.
  • Strong communication abilities, including data visualization, report writing, and presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to self-direct, identify priorities, and deliver impactful results.
Technical Skills (Intermediate Level):
  • Programming: Python (including libraries such as Numpy and Pandas)
  • Statistics & Analysis:
    • Central Limit Theorem, probability distributions, and measures of central tendency/dispersion
    • Correlation analysis, hypothesis testing (ANOVA, t-tests), and A/B testing
    • Time series analysis and forecasting
Beneficial Skills:
  • Experience or interest in machine learning (ML) and related projects
  • A desire to explore innovative solutions for business challenges
