Role

Fresh minded apprentice required that’s willing to learn manually operated machines, semi auto machinery & cad facilities for a print finishing company / point of sale manufacturer that’s been operating for 25 years.

Duties and operations are:

  • Manual machine (hand fed diecutting) 
  • Semi auto machine (mounting) 
  • Cad machine (computerised) 

The roll would require you to be a team player, learn & work your way through the ranks, take responsibility in time, take on different rolls. Cad software knowledge & general computing skills would be an advantage.

Training

The training will cover the following: 

  • Level 3 Print Technician Standards  
  • Level 2 Functional Skills English and Maths 

Training will be delivered within the workplace. The successful candidate will attend Leeds City College Eastgate Campus one day a month and online support will be offered using resources on Google drive. 
 
After 24 months training you will be entered for end point assessment.   

End Point assessment includes:  

  • Multiple choice exam  
  • Observation of practice with Questioning  
  • Interview underpinned by a portfolio of evidence.    

Successful candidates will receive a Print Technician Level 3 certificate from the awarding body.  

  • Possibility of full time position within the company
