Job summary

Derbyshire Community Health Service Trust (DCHS) has an exciting opportunity for a technical instructor to join our cardiac rehabilitation team.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation service covers North Derbyshire to deliver exercise and education to cardiac patients.

We are looking for a technical instructor with understanding and experience in the delivery of rehabilitation, and the confidence to integrate into a innovative and passionate team.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role include, but are not limited to, assessing patients safety to enrol onto the exercise and education programme.

Assisting in the delivery of safe and prescriptive exercise, whilst monitoring, recognising and then adapting exercise where needed.

You will be expected to travel across North Derbyshire, aid in functional testing and exercise delivery.

Contribution to service development and innovation will be key, as we continue evolve to meet the complex needs of our patients.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential
  • To have a relevant NVQ Level 3 OR exercise qualification

Experience and Knowledge Required

Essential
  • Experience of working independently or in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in a role in assisting with the provision of exercise as a physiotherapy assistant or within another exercise environment
  • Recent experience of working in a community setting
Desirable
  • Knowledge of cardiorespiratory conditions.
  • Experience of System 1 / IT systems

Other

Essential
  • Able to organise, prioritise and manage own workload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes
