Main duties of the job
In this dynamic role, you'll play a pivotal part in supporting the Dorset Intelligence and Insight Service (DiiS) by enhancing our data warehousing and ensuring we meet the highest standards of quality. Your work will involve crafting insightful intelligence reports and analyses that drive meaningful change.
You'll be instrumental in providing accurate and timely information, helping us to improve health outcomes across our communities. By contributing to the streamlining of processes and tools, you'll foster greater efficiency within our Business Intelligence team.
Your contributions will directly support the Integrated Care System (ICS) in tackling health inequalities and promoting population health management. Together, we'll cultivate an intelligence-led culture that empowers all Trust staff to make data-driven decisions. Education & Qualification
- Level 4 Data Analytics and / or equivalent relevant experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development that enhances theoretical and practical skills/knowledge.
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience in collecting, analysing, interpreting, and presenting data.
- Experience of manipulating large data sets to provide appropriate analysis to support the business decision making process.
- Experience of extracting & analysing complex and sensitive data to support the monitoring requirements to meet NHS targets
- Experience of working effectively in a team and collaboratively across departments /organisations.
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with colleagues, clinicians, managers, and speciality leads.
- Evidence of effective organisation and problem solving skills, with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload and work to tight and frequently changing deadlines
- Advanced MS Office skills including Excel and SQL.
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence reporting solutions (for example Power BI) to manipulate, interpret and publish data.
- The ability to obtain, understand, analyse, and present to others, significant amounts of complex and sensitive data from various information sources.
- Understanding of NHS information systems and data management processes.
- The skills to visualise and present performance information in an engaging and intelligible format.
- Evidence of the ability to work under own initiative and as part of a small specialist team with limited supervision.
- Understanding of the meaning of confidentiality and the requirement for this to be maintained.
- Awareness of NHS performance management and quality agendas.
- Experience of collecting, extracting, and validating complex and sensitive data from a variety of computer systems.
- Intrepid attitude to change and willingness to learn new skills and take on challenges
