Junior IT Infrastructure & Network Tech Apprentice
This role will provide frontline IT Helpdesk support, assisting staff and students with technical issues while developing their skills and knowledge through a degree apprenticeship program. The role offers hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving problems, managing service requests, and maintaining IT systems in a dynamic work environment.
Role
- Provide first-line technical support, responding to IT Helpdesk queries from staff and students via phone, email, and in-person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.
- Log and track support requests in the IT Helpdesk, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.
- Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers and mobile devices.
- Support user account management, including password resets, access permissions, and system security settings.
- Provide guidance and training to users on IT best practices, cybersecurity awareness, and software usage.
- Assist in the deployment and maintenance of classroom technology, including interactive displays and audio-visual equipment.
- Participate in IT projects, contributing to system upgrades, network improvements, and service enhancements.
- Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills through on-the-job learning and academic studies.
- Follow IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection, security, and acceptable use policies.

- Delivered through blended learning.
At the successful completion of the 4-year degree apprenticeship, the postholder will have a permanent role at the College supporting the IT Manager to further develop and support East Norfolkâs IT Provision.
