Junior IT Infrastructure & Network Tech Apprentice

This role will provide frontline IT Helpdesk support, assisting staff and students with technical issues while developing their skills and knowledge through a degree apprenticeship program. The role offers hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving problems, managing service requests, and maintaining IT systems in a dynamic work environment.

Role

  • Provide first-line technical support, responding to IT Helpdesk queries from staff and students via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.
  • Log and track support requests in the IT Helpdesk, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers and mobile devices.
  • Support user account management, including password resets, access permissions, and system security settings.
  • Provide guidance and training to users on IT best practices, cybersecurity awareness, and software usage.
  • Assist in the deployment and maintenance of classroom technology, including interactive displays and audio-visual equipment.
  • Participate in IT projects, contributing to system upgrades, network improvements, and service enhancements.
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills through on-the-job learning and academic studies.
  • Follow IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection, security, and acceptable use policies.

  • Delivered through blended learning.

At the successful completion of the 4-year degree apprenticeship, the postholder will have a permanent role at the College supporting the IT Manager to further develop and support East Norfolk’s IT Provision.
