ESNEFT has identified Epic as their supplier in delivering a new Electronic Patient Record system. The opportunity to develop our processes and clinical pathways using the best-in-class EPR offers ESNEFT the platform to strive for excellence in all areas of healthcare across all roles. Our EpicEPR will benefit all clinical and operational areas, aligning to our Trust strategy to support harmonisation of services & patient pathways across the Trust.

We are seeking to recruit an Interim Cogito/Caboodle Data Engineer Data Engineer who will support with the development of reporting and regulatory submissions within ESNEFT's new Epic EPR environment, ensuring ESNEFT has a robust suite of reporting ready for our new Epic EPR go-live in October 2025 and we are able to meet all regulatory reporting requirements.

Due to the interim nature of the role, it essential that you are already Epic certified with Cogito and/or Caboodle.

Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only.

Please note the role can be predominately home working with the expectation to be come occasionally onsite, as and when required.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensure that service delivery standards are achieved.
  • Work collaboratively with the Divisional Directors, Clinical Leads, Operational leads, and other colleagues to ensure that service delivery and improvement plans are developed, implemented and reviewed.
  • Ensure that financial controls are established and maintained within the relevant departments.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues across the Trust to drive the achievement of the Trust's corporate goals and business plan, including the achievement of all the relevant performance standards incorporating quality, safety, contractual, financial and people.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Trust, ensuring the positive development of the Trust brand, championing the Trust's values.

  • Educated to masters level or equivalent experience
  • Further relevant training
Desirable
  • Project Management Qualification
  • Professional Business Intelligence/Software Development Qualification

Experience

Essential
  • Proven experience of working in a management/leadership role
  • Leading service changes to improve performance
  • Leading projects
  • Substantial experience of BI Development / data engineering.
Desirable
  • Proven experience working within NHS organisation
  • Leading major Business Intelligence development projects
  • Experience of "agile" software development
  • Experience of Microsoft Analysis Services and PowerBI
  • Experience of VBA
  • Substantial experience in Business Intelligence development including C#, XML
