Allied Health Professional Information Officer
Job summary
We are recruiting for an Allied Health Professional Information Officer (AHPIO) who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The AHPIO will lead and support workstreams as part of the Trust's EPR implementation Project. We welcome applicants from different AHP backgrounds to contribute to our clinical workstreams:
o Emergency Departmento In-patiento ICU and Theatreso Out-patientso EPMA
The AHPIO will be supporting the Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) in leading the development and implementation of Digital to support nursing, midwifery and AHP practice, collaborating with the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) on the clinical and administrative decision-making process.
The AHPIO will take particular responsibility for ensuring AHP adoption and engagement in the use of technology:
- Driving continuous clinical process improvement in the AHP workforce, focused on patient outcomes and efficiency.
- Developing clinical Information that supports and enhances AHP practice and organisational efficiency

Main duties of the job
The Allied Health Professional Information Officer (AHPIO) is a key leadership role central to the success of the Trust's Digital and Nursing Strategies. The AHPIO will be involved across the Trust supporting the CNIO and CCIO across all specialties and will be a key member of the EPR Project implementation team.
The AHPIO is a translator and main point of liaison for AHP staff and will be expected to lead and support workstream/s as part of EPR project implementation.
You will be responsible for the clinical safety of systems and processes.They will hold a recognised CSO qualification or be willing to undertake.
You will be the Lead AHP for digital with ownership and responsibility for the co-ordination and collation of data with colleagues in the AHP, digital department and external agencies where required.
The AHPIO will take responsibility for ensuring AHP adoption and engagement in the use of technology.

Person Specification
Qualifications / Training
- Relevant professional/clinical qualification (HCPC registered)
- First level degree in related healthcare discipline
- Master's degree relevant to role or equivalent experience
- Teaching/Mentorship qualification
- Clinical Safety Officer Practitioner or willingness to undertake
- Digital Health Leadership course or working towards
- Post Grad management qualification and/or equivalent experience
- Project management qualification / experience
Knowledge and experience
- In-depth understanding of the national digital agenda and What Good Looks Like (WGLL) Framework
- In-depth understanding of the relevance of high-quality data
- Up to date and evidence-based knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
- In-depth understanding of the unified vision of nursing and midwifery documentation and ability to apply the findings to AHP practice to improve patient care
- Strong analytical, good technical knowledge and problem solving skills relating to IT Systems
- Experience in MDT working and experience at 8a Level
- Knowledge of clinical systems (CMIS, Lorenzo, Nervecentre, etc)
- Post Grad management qualification and/or equivalent experience
- Project management qualification/experinece
Previous Experience & Skills
- Advanced level skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Able to teach and assess in all clinical areas
- Problem solving and analytical skills relating to the identification and assessment of evidence required to support decision making
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
