About the Role
A rapidly growing organisation in the water management sector is seeking a Head of Data to drive their digital transformation. This leadership position will focus on shaping the data strategy, overseeing governance, and unlocking the value of data to support business objectives. The role involves managing the architecture, security, and analytics to ensure the company fully leverages its data assets for strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
You'll lead a team responsible for delivering analytics and insights, collaborating with multiple departments to ensure data-driven solutions enhance customer engagement and organisational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the organisation's long-term objectives.
Ensure robust data governance practices are implemented to maintain data quality, security, and privacy.
Lead the design and development of analytics platforms that provide actionable insights to the business.
Oversee data infrastructure to ensure it supports large-scale data processing, storage, and retrieval.
Collaborate with business leaders to understand and address data needs, providing key metrics and insights.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards, implementing security protocols to safeguard sensitive information.
Lead and develop a high-performing data team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications & Experience:
Extensive expertise in data architecture, governance, and analytics, with a proven ability to deliver strategic solutions that add business value.
Strong experience with cloud-based data platforms, particularly Azure services like Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics.
Proven leadership experience managing data teams and aligning data strategies with overall business goals.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to transform raw data into actionable insights through interactive reporting tools like Power BI.
Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into business-friendly insights.
Desirable certifications: Azure Data Engineer, Solutions Architect, and data management certifications.
