Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled E-Commerce Software Architect to join a company undergoing a major digital transformation. This role offers the chance to play a key role in shaping the architecture of high-traffic, scalable, and secure E-Commerce solutions. Working within an Agile environment, you will collaborate closely with developers, UX designers, and business change managers to drive innovation and enhance customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement scalable and secure E-Commerce architecture to support business growth.
- Design and optimize integrations with third-party SaaS services such as payment gateways, ERP, and CRM systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor a team of software engineers.
- Develop and enforce architecture standards and best practices for coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of the existing E-Commerce ecosystem (cloud-based services, APIs, databases).
- Keep up to date with emerging E-Commerce technologies and industry trends.
- Ensure compliance with UK regulations (UK-GDPR, PCI-DSS, FCA Conduct Rules).
Key Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in an architect or technical lead role.
- Proven expertise in designing and building high-traffic, transactional E-Commerce platforms.
- Strong experience with C#, .NET, Java, JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS, jQuery).
- Proficiency in API development (REST, SOAP, LDAP) with data formats like JSON & XML.
- Knowledge of relational (MS SQL Server) and document-oriented databases (Oracle Endeca).
- Experience in secure web and API development, including OWASP best practices, authentication protocols, and encryption.
- Familiarity with performance optimization techniques for web applications.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, GitLab, Jenkins, Selenium).
