Glen Dimplex - Engineering Technician - Mechatronics Multi-skilled Apprentice

Mechatronics pathway. You will work toward achieving a Level 3 Advanced Engineering Technician qualification, attending our training centre on block release, followed by day release at NWTC Liverpool for training and Further Education. The remainder of your time will be spent with your employer who will support you through your apprenticeship.

Role

  • Carry out safe proactive maintenance 
  • Fault find and carry out breakdown repairs.
  • Ensure targets and quality standards are achieved and maintained
  • Develop ability to use digital based diagnostic equipment for establishing fault locations on automated equipment
  • Monitor and interpret data to support efficient use and Business Improvement Techniques
  • Follow instructions from Lead Engineers
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure a safe working environment, for you and people around you, by working safely in accordance with site Risk Assessments, Health & Safety procedures and rules at all times

Training

  • You will work toward achieving a Level 3 Advanced Engineering Technician qualification attending our training centre at NWTC Liverpool on block release followed by day release for training and Further Education.
  • At the end of the apprenticeship, candidates will be suitably trained and continue their employment dependant on the business needs at the time.
  • This role is based in/covers the North West.
  • Further in-house and external training and development available.
  • Potential continuation of education and academic studies i.e. HNC and HND
  • Continued professional development outside of the apprenticeship for candidates who do well and wish to develop further, there may be the opportunity to progress with training in City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, City & Guilds 2392 Inspection and Testing, Part P and Part G Building Regulations, F Gas.

37.5 Hours per week – the first 12 months at the Training provider. Monday to Friday (8.30 – 4.30) with some day release back to your employer. From second year your hours of work will be Monday – Thursday (8:30-5:00) and Friday (8:30-4:00)
