IT Engineer / Drone Pilot

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Engineer / Drone Pilot to join our Head Office team. The purpose of the role is to support existing 1st line and 2nd line requirements, carryout troubleshooting tasks and learn to fly.

You will be joining a fantastic team of other IT enthusiasts. You will from time to time attend our remote offices to do office setups. Drone technology is growing exciting technology in our industry that we use daily. We will train you as a Drone Pilot to carry out Drones surveys as part of the role.

Key Accountabilities to include but not limited to:

  • Install and configure hardware (desktops, laptops, servers, etc.)
  • Install and configure software (operating systems, applications, etc.)
  • Fly Drones and process Drone data
  • Configure cybersecurity defences, endpoint anti-virus and network firewalls
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software problems
  • Perform data backups and recovery
  • Maintain and update computer systems
  • Manage user accounts and permissions
  • Identify and resolve network connectivity issues
  • Setup small independent remote offices
  • Apply Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for task automation
  • Work with databases, move, rebuild, optimise
  • Use remote access tools for troubleshooting
  • Keeps up-to-date and implement emerging computing technologies
  • Document procedures and solutions clearly

Qualifications / Experience:

The below qualifications are demonstrative of ability but are not essential for the role if your technology experience proves otherwise. 

  • compTIA A+  
  • Cisco CCNA
  • Experience in IT support roles
