The role…
We are seeking a skilled BI Developer to lead the transition of our HR/people reporting from legacy data reports into Microsoft Fabric. The successful candidate will play a key role in automating our reporting processes, moving away from manual Excel reporting towards automated data insights through Power BI. This position requires a strong understanding of business requirements, database development, and project management to enhance our HR reporting capabilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Understand Business Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business needs and requirements related to HR reporting.
- Taxonomy Development and Management: Design, develop, and maintain data taxonomies to ensure consistent categorisation and organisation of business data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine taxonomy structures that align with business needs and objectives.
- Develop Microsoft Fabric Medallion Database: Utilise Python and SQL to build and optimise our Microsoft Fabric database for data storage and processing.
- Build Reporting in Power BI: Create dynamic and insightful Power BI reports that facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Project Management: Manage end-to-end BI projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.
- Process Improvement: Work closely with business leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement in HR reporting and analytics.
- Challenge Business Views: Provide critical insights and challenge existing business perceptions to enhance decision-making processes.
- Business Partner with HR: Become a subject matter expert (SME) in HR reporting, offering previously undiscovered insights to the HR team.
Role requirements:
- Minimum of 5 of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related field.
- Proven experience with Power BI is critical.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python is desired.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric is desirable.
- Experience in end-to-end analysis processes, including requirement gathering, database building, and report creation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
