Role: Senior Technical Services Engineer

Salary: £40,000

Located: Sheffield

Hours:- Monday to Friday

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join their dynamic, close knit team. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering top-tier IT solutions to their clients, ensuring the highest standards of service and support. Your technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and leadership qualities will be essential in helping drive the success of their projects and maintaining their reputation for excellence of support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Escalated Client Support: Serve as a point of contact for key clients, addressing their technical needs and ensuring timely resolution of escalated issues.
  • System Design and Implementation: Play a leading role in the design, implementation, and optimization of IT infrastructure and systems for clients, including network architecture, server deployment, telephony and cloud solutions.
  • Project Management: Oversee and manage complex IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend best practices, and implement innovative solutions to enhance service delivery.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure all IT systems and processes comply with relevant security standards and regulations, safeguarding client data and infrastructure.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and procedures to support knowledge sharing and continuity.

The successful candidate:

  • Education: Ideally degree educated in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CCNP, MCSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, and system design, preferably within an MSP environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in a wide range of IT technologies, including Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), networking (Unifi, Zyxel, Draytek), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, 365).
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
