Overview:
Information Management (IM), defines implements and adapts Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and Information Systems (IS) strategy to the needs of the business and users.
Within Information Management the Information Systems teams have responsibilities for supporting and deploying business applications, with IS Engineering supporting a key pillar of our business.
The IS Engineering Solutions team work as part of IS to support programmes and transformation activities.
The Role:
So, what will you be doing as an Information Systems Solution Analyst?
The IS Engineering Solutions team support contribution to the Future Cruise Anti-Ship Weapon (FC/ASW) programme, an international programme to deliver a new generation missile. The team supports the programme through collaboration with key partners in UK Defence and abroad, as well as looking at the internal state o IM systems to meet the needs and new ways of working FC/ASW will deliver. The IS Engineering Solution Architect will cover both of these key activities working within an established team to prioritise and deliver improvements to our Engineering toolsets.
Assess Needs/Ideas according to the IM End to End Process as Technical Expert or apply the equivalent agile techniques adopted in the programme. Ensuring, and maturing the quality of the Scope, Feasibility and Business Case. Provide Systems Engineering processes/lifecycle subject matter expertise and advice at all stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and validation of requirements
- Build an understanding of the interaction between tools and business processes
- Map process and engineering data against the relevant application sets
- Kick-off the scoping phase of solutions
- Monitor solutions against the needs of internal stakeholders
- Understand the impact of proposed changes for business teams and processes
- Ensure the solutions as deployed meet the organisational needs
- Assist in the creation of a feasible project
- Provide subject matter expertise for risks, issues and opportunities
The role is primarily aligned with the needs of the Programmes as assigned and will have accountabilities and responsibilities in support those programme needs.

- Advantageous - Systems Engineering processes/lifecycle and of the lifecycle of information systems including acquisition and development of new technology
