Guide Post Medical Group is pleased to announce the offer of a Data Entry/Administration Assistant post at the practice.
The role of the Data Entry/Administration Assistant is to be information-centred, with the main focus of the job being to ensure effective and efficient handling of clinical information.
The main purpose of the role will be to enter correspondence, by code, onto patients' medical records.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role are:
-To process incoming electronic mail.
-To deal with hospital correspondence, and entering by Read Code onto medical records
-To maintain patients' computer records
-To ensure pathology laboratory results are received and posted to the appropriate clinician
-To undertake clinical searches
-To summarise new patients' records and enter onto clinical software
About us
The successful candidate will be well-supported within a team of 5, led by the Data Manager, and full training will be given in all aspects of the work.
The practice is based in a refurbished and modernised NHS Property Services Premises with seven GPs, two Nurse Practitioners, one Physician Associate, four Practice Nurses and three Health Care Assistants supported by an excellent administration team.

JOB TITLE: DATA ENTRY /ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
LINE MANAGEMENT: DATA MANAGER
REPORTS TO: BUSINESS MANAGER
ACCOUNTABLE TO: THE GENERAL PRACTITIONERS IN PARTNERSHIP
JOB PURPOSE:
1. To ensure effective and efficient handling of information.
2. To ensure that the computer system software is effectively maintained
3. To ensure that Practice protocols are adhered to.
4.To ensure that the Practice objectives are achieved in all aspects of patient care.
MAIN TASKS:
1. Deal with hospital correspondence, and entering by Read Code onto medical records, maintaining patients computer record, as required.
2. Summarise new patients records and enter on to clinical software
3. To ensure pathology laboratory results are received via the electronic link, and posted to the appropriate clinician.
4. To undertake clinical searches, as instructed by the Data Manager.
5. To undertake any other duties, as appropriate to the position, as directed by the Data and Business Managers.

Qualifications
- QUALIFICATION IN IT
Experience
- ADMINISTRATION EXPERIENCE, WORKING IN A BUSY ENVIRONMENT.
- DATA / IT EXPERIENCE.
- EXPERIENCE OF WORKING IN PRIMARY CARE / GP PRACTICE.
- DATA ENTRY / CODING EXPERIENCE.
