Senior CITI Analytics Manager

Job summary

A unique leadership opportunity for a Senior CITI Analytics Manager to lead the CITI Analytics function. We are looking for candidates with subject matter expertise in healthcare data analytics, with experience in developing insights to support senior leaders with the identification, prioritisation and effective delivery of CITI projects and programmes.

The post holder will act as an ambassador for CITI across GSTT, collaborating closely with senior stakeholders. We are looking dynamic individuals who are driven to fulfil CITI's ambitions to be an exemplar internationally of a function that stimulates and delivers leading innovation, transformation and improvement.

CITI co-locates multi-faceted teams to provide the focal point for clinical innovators and services seeking to translate ideas or early stage products or improvements into clinical practice. The Centre aims both to incubate and deliver innovations and improvement ideas, projects and programmes, working alongside and for its clinical customers for the benefit of patients.

Main duties of the job

The Senior CITI Analytics Manager plays an instrumental role in leading and delivering the Trust's transformation and improvement programmes and work closely with the Senior Management team of CITI and Clinical Groups, playing key role in the following:

  • Lead the delivery of insightful analysis that support performance monitoring, transformation and improvement for a number of Clinical Groups. Taking the lead in using a range of analytical and reporting software and bringing together internal and external datasets.
  • Being directly responsible for designing strategies for data collection, collation and analysis as well as the development and implementation of plans to provide analytic support to programmes and projects supported by CITI. This includes the resource management of CITI analytical resources.
  • Post-holder will develop data insights and analytical tools that support performance management as well as the prioritisation and delivery of change.
  • Be responsible for generally providing analytical service to the Senior Leadership of CITI so they can monitor, track and report the impact the function is making at an aggregated level. This will include informing the prioritisation process for CITI by collating and analysis performance data from across the Trust.
  • Be responsible for elevating the analytic capability across CITI and across the Trust through supporting the development and delivery of capability development programmes and communities of practice.

Education/Qualification

Essential
  • Master's degree in informaticsrelated discipline, or equivalent experience within the area of information management (A)
  • Evidence of significant continuing professional development in data science (A)
  • Knowledge of current NHS issues relating to Data Policy both clinical and non-clinical (A/I)
Desirable
  • Certification in project or programme management (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, APM, MSP) (A/I)

Previous Experience

Essential
  • Significant and demonstrable postgraduation experience required in a post with a significant analytical component (A)
  • Technical subject matter experience and broad experience of using information derived from large and complex data sets (A/I)
  • Substantial experience of supervising staff and / or a Analytics function, including staff development (A/I)
  • Significant experience of developing network relationships and working collaboratively effectively (A/I)
Desirable
  • Experience of designing engagement approaches with patients / end users of a service (A/I)

Skills/Knowledge/Ability

Essential
  • Substantial analytical knowledge, skills and ability: a. Ability to write SQL scripts and use functions within SQL Management Studio (A/I/T) b. Ability to work other relevant programming languages such as R or Python (A/I/T) c. Able to create and run ETL packages using SQL Service Data Tools (A/I/T) d. Expert use of Excel, including experience in building models within Excel (A/I/T) e. Experience in other modelling software (A/I/T) f. Experience in Demand and Capacity analysis, as well as flow analysis (A/I/T) g. Ability to creating outputs in Tableau, PowerBI, and equivalent data visualization software (A/I/T) h. Advanced analytical and judgement skills including understanding and application of complex statistical and numerical data. (A/I/T) i. Demonstrable ability to interpret meaning of highly complex numeric reports and explain concepts to a large audience (A/I/T)
  • Comprehensive ability to present complex information in a high impact, understandable and concise manner, drawing on different writing styles including reports. Ability to set out conclusions and recommendations clearly and concisely in a range of styles to reflect the needs of the audience (A/I/T)
  • Ability to develop measurement frameworks / benefits mapping for programmes, including planning for data collection, collation and analysis (A/I)

  • Skilled in data cleaning and database administration
  • Experience in managing transformation and improvement programmes in complex organisations.
