The Opportunity

We have an outstanding opportunity for an IT Security Officer to work with our client based in the heart of Newcastle. Our client has recently created this pivotal role to develop their IT Security into a position of maturity.

The role

As the main point of contact for security to all stakeholders, identifying and reporting threats and vulnerabilities will be vital to this role as well as developing and maintaining information security policies and procedures.

You will be responsible for aligning the organisation with industry standards and best practices and providing expert guidance across all business functions, ensuring that the organisation adheres to standards to establish a solid IT security foundation.

You will be required to have an excellent understanding of ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS and have practical experience of networks, servers, desktops and their security.

Who you'll be

• You will have excellent knowledge of IS27001 and PCI-DSS compliance
• You'll be able to translate complex technology concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• You'll have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a previous IT Security role.
• You will be able to work independently and tackle challenges in a calm and timely manner
• You'll have strong attention to detail
• You will have previous experience writing prolicies and procedures within a large organisation
