My client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Brackley. Working collaboratively with others, you will help to provide and support the IT platforms and services that empower the Team. You will:

  • Implement, support and maintain a broad range of infrastructure including storage platforms, VMWare, physical servers and associated interconnectivity
  • Own the current and future state to provide secure, high performing, scalable services to the business
  • Instal and configure physical IT hardware and maintenance of Datacentres and the associated infrastructure
  • Support and troubleshoot Windows and Linux server workloads, virtual machines, clusters and services
  • Manage the Infrastructure security, system protection and continuity (backup/restore/DR)
  • Manage requirements for gathering and implementation of new infrastructure projects
  • Provide support and training to the junior members of the I.T. team 
  • Support the wider organisation with escalations

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have in-depth knowledge and experience of implementing and supporting enterprise scale VMware clusters and associated underlying infrastructure and storage platforms, including HCI infrastructure. 
  • Have experience in taking a product from conception to completion into our production infrastructure
  • Have experience with Microsoft and Linux OS technologies, platforms and services including AD/authentication/DNS/DHCP.
  • Have experience with backup / restore, data protection and disaster recovery platforms and capabilities
  • Have experience of Cloud-based alternatives and offerings to compliment on-premise infrastructures
  • Ideally have vendor certifications (e.g. VMware, Microsoft, Linux).
  • Ideally have experience managing and operating via command line utilities and working to improve automation and enlist modern practises (e.g. managing VMWare with PowerCLI, DevOps, CI/CD, Ansible, Kubernetes etc.)
  • Have excellent attention to detail 
  • Be a strong team player and have excellent communication skills 
  • Be highly organised and work well independently
  • Have experience of working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Be confident and have proven ability to execute operations and changes within an ITIL environment

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm.
