Programme Manager
Job summary
The Programme Manager will manage one or more specific large-scale projects as delegated across the organisation in collaboration with colleagues and partners.
The project(s) may be part of a programme, or large stand-alone and they will be expected to be the planning lead with a high level of autonomy.
Lead specialist on specific projects.
Manages project managers/officers and administrators as appropriate.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Develop and manage effective arrangements to plan, manage and monitor the outputs of any workstreams that underpin the project, ensuring that they deliver the required outputs to the agreed specification and deadlines.
Develop governance arrangements for the programme.
Interpret national guidelines and policy to enable management of the Programme / Project including risks and develop contingency plans as and when necessary.
Keep the Programme / Project Board informed of progress through the preparation of Highlight and End Stage Assessment Reports and ensure they are aware of progress and risks escalating as appropriate.
Ensure risks and issues are monitored and managed through the development of risk and issues logs and develop creative solutions for mitigating actions where necessary and ensure these are reported.

Qualifications & Knowledge
- Educated to Postgraduate Diploma level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Project and/or Programme management office qualification, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent experience
- Masters level qualification
Experience
- Experience of management and managing successful projects
- Effective partnership working in the public sector
- Experience of effective stakeholder working with external bodies
- Experience as a formal project manager
- Experience of working within the NHS
Other
- Travel around Wales, and possibly further afield on a regular basis
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards

- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills

- Track record of complex problem solving in a project management environment
- Competent in the use of desktop applications
