Senior Business Data Analyst

Job summary

The business data analyst is part of a highly successful team working within the HRA digital directorate, responsible for developing, delivering, and supporting complex solutions within the HRA's portfolio of national information systems for health research. This includes the Research Systems programme, a major programme to build a new integrated research application and workflow system and to achieve the successful migration and eventual closure of current systems (IRAS and HARP).

As a business data analyst, you will use thedata analysis processto understand, interpret, and predict patterns in business, and then use those data-driven insights to enhance the business requirements and practices.

Main duties of the job

make sure that all data structures are analysed, documented, and aligned with business requirements

collaborate with business analysts, product managers and data architects to understand data needs and translate them into requirements

own the main stakeholder relationships related to your discipline

analyse, understand, and define a data problem or opportunity

undertake research and analysis to understand how a business area works, considering the people, organisation, processes, information, data and technology

identify areas for improvement, explore feasible options and define data driven ways of implementing business solutions

make sure that data quality, consistency, and compliance with industry standards

facilitate the alignment of data models with business process requirements

Job responsibilities

This role sits within HRA Digital. The digital directorate is responsible for developing, delivering and supporting complex solutions within the HRAs portfolio of UK-wide information systems for health and care research. This includes a major programme to build new systems, and to achieve the successful migration and eventual closureof current systems.

The HRA Digital team is a collaborative, supportive team consisting of HRA employees, secondees, contractors and vendors.
