Apprentice Panel Wireman
Role
We are looking to recruit an Apprentice from July to join our team.
Please note the first year training will be block release training at Training 2000 in Blackburn.
The apprentice will spend time in each of the manufacturing teams at IRIS, learning the skills and processes needed to become a multiskilled technician. From day one the apprentice will have the opportunity to contribute towards continuous improvement activities within the business.
The apprentice will closely work with a mentor and alongside experienced and existing apprentices to further develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for the role. Experience of working independently will be gained in the factory. In addition, the opportunity to spend time in our test department to gain further knowledge and skills in how complex control panels operate.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide hands on mechanical assembly and wiring of control panels
- Complete wiring and install a variety of electronic and electro mechanical components from mechanical and electrical drawings
- Report design or material non-conformances
- Mark up drawings for design updates to ‘as built’
- Quality check, inspect and record findings of completed wiring before handling over to the next process
- Comply with company policies and procedures concerning safety, environmental and quality, and corresponding ISO record keeping requirements
Training
- Level 3 Engineering Fitter BTEC Extended Diploma
- Functional Skills, Level 2 in Mathematics, English, ICT, working with others and improving your own learning. Functional Skills requirements is subject to the successful applicants GCSE results. Grade A-C and within 5 years old means the apprentice will be relaxed from completing functional skills. Certification evidence will need to be provided
