Application Support Engineer

The Opportunity:

My prestigious client based in the security sector are currently looking to add an Application Support Engineer to the team which a blue chip client base and a reputation for being an outstanding service provider.

My client are seeking an enthusiastic, positive and ambitious technician to join their IT support team. In this full time, permanent role you will be providing remote customer support via telephone, email and remote support tool.

You must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems, gained in a support service desk/help desk environment and will be a logical thinker able to demonstrate problem solving skills in a time-efficient manner as well as having a good all round knowledge of IT.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous IT remote phone support experience.
  • Support desk experience.
  • Working knowledge of LAN, WAN, VPN and Firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL.
  • Experience in fault diagnosis of networking hardware.
  • Experience in supporting Microsoft Windows Server and desktop operating systems.
  • Experience of hardware assembly eg Servers and workstations.
  • Experience of Linux OS and containers.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic with a can do' attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills including a good telephone manner.
  • Sound planning, organising and prioritising abilities.
  • Target focused.
  • Flexible to cope with change and is proactive.
  • Ability to work well individually or as part of a team.
