1st/2nd Line IT Engineer

Role: 1st/2nd Line IT Engineer
Location: Manchester (Middleton)
Salary: £27,000 DOE

We are looking for an enthusiastic 1st/2nd Line IT Engineer to join a market leading, award winning manufacturing company, based in Middleton, with occasional travel to their other Manchester based offices.

There will be ongoing training and opportunities to shadow senior engineers carrying out migrations, deployments and roll-outs. You will also have the opportunity to develop into infrastructure roles internally.

Skills:

• 1-2 years industry experience in IT Support
• Great knowledge on Microsoft OS & MS Office Suite
• Active Directory / Group Policies
• Networking Protocols - DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Customer-orientated approach, delivering outstanding customer service
• Knowledge on ITIL or other frameworks
• Driving Licence / Own car

Highly Desired:

• Experience working within warehouse, manufacturing or e-commerce environments
• Experience working with inventory / warehouse management or order processing systems
• Knowledge on label printers, bar-code scanners or other hardware used in warehouses.
• Specialised software systems used in above environments E.g. SQL, Sage / Sage 200, ERP

Responsibilities:

• Technical support to end users via channels, face-to-face, phone, email etc
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network related issues.
• Assist with configurations, installs, maintenance of systems
• Document processes, keeping them up-to-date and clear
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including system updates, patching, data backups
• Provide customer service and liaise with other departments
