Apprentice Building Services Engineer - London - Degree Apprenticeship

You will play a key role in the wider team to deliver projects that optimize performance efficiency in our clients buildings. Role

  • Specialize in Building Management Systems: As part of the BMS team, you'll deliver projects for industrial, commercial, and residential markets, which exposes you to diverse projects and environments.
  • Configure the building control systems as defined by the clients objectives.
  • Implement software program modifications using established standards.
  • Maintain operation and maintenance documentation to reflect changes of the system.
  • Issue all documentation to the relevant parties and obtain approval from the Client or their representative.
  • Consultation Focus: Our team is primarily focused on consulting with clients to enhance their buildings, reduce running costs and emissions, and improve overall performance.
  • Comprehensive Knowledge: You'll gain a solid understanding of the main areas our systems interact with, including HVAC controls, Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Services Systems.
  • Guidance and Mentorship: Your mentor will guide you in fundamental BMS engineering principles, teaching you innovative methods to lower energy costs, reduce emissions, and improve building efficiency.
  • Technical Role: As an apprentice, you'll create detailed project plans and for various systems, ensuring compliance with industry and legislative standards.
  • Diverse Project Environments: Our team works on BMS systems in various environments such as warehouses, manufacturing plants, retail spaces, commercial offices, and schools. This exposure enhances your understanding of different BMS applications and challenges.
  • Client Interaction and Site Visits: You'll get the opportunity to visit client sites with colleagues to conduct surveys and gather information, aiding in the development of comprehensive projects tailored to specific client needs.
  • Education and Training: You'll be enrolled full-time in a "Level 3 project controls technician qualification”. This program combines on-the-job work experience with college education, providing a comprehensive learning experience. Continuous support from our training team and experienced project engineers ensures your development throughout the program.
  • Education and Training: You will be enrolled full-time in a "Level 6 Building Services Design" degree Apprenticeship at Coventry University. This apprenticeship combines on-the-job work experience with college education, providing a well-rounded learning experience. Continuous support from the training team and experienced design engineers ensures your development throughout the program.

 

Qualifications Required:

Either:

  • Min of 3 A Levels: B, B, C to include Mathematics. Excludes general studies.
  • BTEC: Distinction, Distinction, Merit from 18 Unit BTEC to include Mathematics.
  • IB Diploma: 28 points to include Mathematics at higher level.
  • Applicants must also hold: 5 GSCEs at grade A*–C including
  • English language and Mathematics or specified equivalent.
  • Full Driving Licence is essential.

Training

  • You will be enrolled full-time in a "Level 6 Building Services Design" degree Apprenticeship at Coventry University. This apprenticeship combines on-the-job work experience with college education, providing a well-rounded learning experience.
  • Continuous support from the training team and experienced design engineers ensures your development throughout the program.
  • This qualification is delivered via block release in Coventry and therefore travel and overnight stay will be required. There is approximately 6 block weeks per year.
  • Upon completion, a number of internal engineering opportunities within the company will be available to you.
  • All of our apprentices immediately move into full time permanent positions.
