Pharmacy - Informatics Officer

Job summary

The Pharmacy Informatics Officer will be a Pharmacy Technician assisting with data reporting and associated tasks, and aiding with the operation, maintenance, and administration of the multiple pharmacy computer systems, software and hardware used across all sites. Additionally, the post holder will maintain their Pharmacy Technician competencies by contributing to the 7-day rota within the dispensary at Denmark Hill and providing additional support where appropriate during busy periods. Based primarily at Denmark Hill with regular cross-site work required at other Kings sites, duties may include, but are not limited to the below.

Main duties of the job

Perform regular and ad-hoc reporting, ensuring that data quality remains high at all times, and communicating any data quality issues to senior staff.

Support the design, development and implementation of data validation and quality assurance systems and methodologies, ensuring the integrity of data systems and reporting produced by the service.

Work collaboratively with pharmacy teams to help develop and refine performance scorecards and dashboards.

Manage and maintain registers of assets and asset locations.

Pharmacy Informatics Officer To support relevant pharmacy digital systems and hardware on all Kings sites (Denmark Hill,PRUH, Orpington Hospital, Beckenham Beacon). Regular visits to all sites will be required. To work collaboratively with pharmacy stakeholders to support the planning and introduction of newpharmacy digital technology systems and ensuring all necessary steps are taken to maintain theintegrity of these systems. To work collaboratively with pharmacy stakeholders to support robust business continuity andcontingency planning for the department concerning pharmacy systems and support any remedialactions needed to resolve unexpected emergencies in the event of system outages/failures. To establish effective working relationships with the Trust IT team including helpdesk, applicationsupport, project and data quality teams. To be responsible for the pharmacy IT hardware asset registers.

Data To support drug mapping across pharmacy systems to enable the generation of usable reports anddata for national benchmarking as needed e.g. Rx-info, Define/Refine, Extend, and IQVIA. To produce routine and ad-hoc reports from multiple data sources. To utilise data to support the development of departmental BIU performance scorecard anddashboards. To work collaboratively with Pharmacy staff to process and resolve queries and issues loggedregarding data quality. To support quality improvements and research across the department. To support the production of data quality reports providing assurance to Pharmacy ManagementGroup and Chief Pharmacist as needed.

Omnicell To support development and utilisation of the Pharmacy Data Analytics Centre. To produce stock optimisation reports when required, to enable pharmacy stores to optimise stockin all Omnicell locations. To support account management for the Data Analytics Centre and Omnicell system. To utilise MedX to support investigation of incidents and drug shortages. To assist in the provision of Omnicell data relating to Departmental and Trust KPIs and otherperformance related metrics.

Person Specification

Education

Essential
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential
  • Demonstrable experience of working with Informatics or Pharmacy computer systems.
  • Knowledge of regulations and legislation relevant to Pharmacy services.
