It Technician Apprentice

Based in IT you will support the College to develop the use of new technologies to enhance teaching and learning. As an apprentice, you will work towards achieving Level 3 Information Communication Technician qualification and will be offered a wide range of training and development opportunities, to help build essential employability skills. Duties include assist with IT security systems plus more.

Role

Key Tasks / Responsibilities:

The post holder will need to have an excellent approach to customer service to fulfil the responsibilities of the post. The post will be based at the College Main site and will involve a range of day-to-day support challenges in a fast-paced environment

1. Follow all procedures in response to fault reporting on the computer helpdesk and work with Computer Services staff in the timely resolution of technical faults.

2. Assist with IT security systems.

3. Work with the Computer Services team to ensure an effective departmental service is provided at all times, including assisting with the provision of print room services.

4. Manage the helpdesk system and telephone calls as necessary and assist staff and students with IT-related queries

5. Carry out daily System Administration tasks

6. Other duties commensurate with the grade of post, including exam invigilation, as required.College Responsibilities:

Training

Level 3 Information Communication Technician Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:

End-Point Assessment (EPA)
Relevant training will be provided through Lancaster and Morecambe College

You will work towards achieving Level 3 ICT qualification for your future endeavours.
