Digital Project Manager

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the start of their digital transformation journey. As a Digital Project Manager you will be at the heart of delivering some key digital solutions that enable our services to transform. We are seeking an experienced digital project manager to initially support the Trust with their automation journey utilising robotic process automation and power automate technologies along with other projects over time. This includes assistance for services in defining project objectives and overseeing quality control and risk management, creating and managing project teams to facilitate the delivery of workstreams for the during of projects. The team provide project guidance and support to key stakeholders in assigned projects of varying scope from corporate to clinical services, managing and utilising available resources effectively. This post is initially for a 12 month period with an option to extend subject to funding.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for leading and managing defined project/s for the Trust. This includes assistance for services in defining project objectives and overseeing quality control and risk management, creating and managing project teams to facilitate the delivery of workstreams for the during of projects. Providing project guidance and support to key stakeholders in assigned projects of varying scope from corporate to clinical services, managing and utilising available resources effectively. The post holder will provide leadership and focus for their project team and will pro-actively communicate with key stakeholders on the development and delivery of their project, ensuring that they are managed in line with best practice standards and that risks are managed and benefits realised. You should have experience of implementing digital projects in a health or social care environment.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with external suppliers and have knowledge and skills to instigate procurement of systems using approved methodologies and procurement frameworks. There will also be an expectation to assist in the negotiation of project scope, products and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management

1.1 Designing and applying appropriate project management standards to all projects and incorporate in the gateway review process

1.2 Planning and monitoring the project and the production of the required deliverables

1.3 Plan and manage the deployment of physical and financial resources to meet project milestones

1.4 Adopting any delegation and use of project assurance roles within agreed reporting structures

1.5 Preparing and maintaining the project, stage and exception plans as required

1.6 Managing project risks, including the development of contingency plans

1.7 Liaison with project management and related projects to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated

1.8 Monitoring overall progress and use of resources, initiating corrective action where necessary

1.9 Applying change control and any required configuration management processes

1.10 Reporting through agreed reporting lines on project progress through highlight reports and end-stage assessments

1.11 Liaison with appointed project assurance representatives to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project

1.12 Build and sustain effective communications with other roles involved in the project as required

1.13 Maintaining an awareness of potential interdependencies with other projects and their impact

1.14 Identifying and obtaining support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project

1.15 Develop and initialise projects including the development of appropriate project plans, project documentation including business cases

1.16 Managing all project administration

1.17 Effectively communicate project objectives and progress to team members and stakeholders in a timely and unambiguous fashion

1.18 Conducting project evaluation review to assess how well the project was managed, delivery of benefits and hand over to operational delivery

1.19 Preparing any follow-on action recommendations as required.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential
  • Degree or diploma in relevant field - Post graduate level or equivalent experience
  • Project management qualification or appropriately trained in project management techniques and processes
Desirable
  • PRINCE2 (Practitioner)
