With an award-winning, multi-disciplinary Programme Team and as one of the largest new hospital projects in the UK, the Trusts Programme Team combines clinical and design expertise, construction/project management excellence, and specialist roles. It works in a fast-paced and collaborative environment with responsibility for the planning, design, construction and delivery of the new hospital.

We are looking for new talent with the skills and experience to advance our plans and are looking for a Project Manager (Digital) with experience of delivering digital projects in a healthcare environment. Working with Clinical and Non-Clinical Teams you will understand and define requirements and work with design teams and suppliers to deliver technology-based solutions that support efficient working. You will demonstrate excellent technical and soft project management skills to ensure the effective management of digital projects.

The role should be considered an on-site role with the opportunity to take advantage from the Trusts flexible working policies. The role shall be required to work from any of the Trusts premises, although is expected to be predominantly based at the LGI site or nearby premises.

Main duties of the job

The BtLW Project Manager (Digital) shall be responsible for supporting and leading key components in the development, planning and implementation of the Programmes Digital Workstream Plan ensuring that this remains aligned with the objectives of the Programme and the wider New Hospitals Programme (NHP) agenda.

It will mainly focus on the delivery of digital designs and implementation for clinical and patient technology solutions, Smart Buildings and Building Information Modelling (BIM), Core Infrastructure and digital information systems and hardware.

This role will lead the planning and delivery of digital projects from their inception and design through to their implementation and hand over to business as usual. You will work closely with a variety of stakeholders (including senior colleagues) and be responsible for engaging and communicating our ambitions and project progress throughout, and leading design teams/suppliers to coordinate the clinical and non-clinical design inputs to meet the needs of our stakeholders.

The role will work closely with the BtLW PMO to ensure that there is robust governance and that activities are managed effectively.

This will be a dynamic role where you will be involved in several projects at any one time, providing the opportunity to manage large scale change and bring innovation to our Digital Health projects.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of the Digital Workstream, working closely with other key workstreams such as Clinical Design, Workforce, Change Management and Sustainability. You will be leading key components in the development, planning and implementation of the Digital Hospital of the Future, ensuring alignment with the objectives of the Programme and the wider New Hospitals Programme (NHP) agenda.

It is expected that the post holder will have Digital Project Management experience in either Healthcare or a Design and Construction environment, with the ability to demonstrate strong fundamental project management and leadership skills, and enthusiasm to deliver large and complex change projects.

The post holder shall be expected to work at a senior management level that will include working directly with Clinical Directors, Senior Management Teams, the BtLW Programme Director, Senior Leaders, operational teams and also a wide range of external stakeholders. The post holder will also work with other Project Management staff dedicated to this Programme to support the delivery of workstream activities. It is expected that the post holder may have responsibility for the management of external specialist consultant advisers and/or other staff as may be commensurate with the grade.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential
  • Project Management competencies, including well developed planning and organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience of delivering Digital projects within a Healthcare or Construction environment.
  • Experience in establishing project plans, tracking progress, managing resources, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience in applying project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of successfully managing complex projects related to TOM design and implementation.
Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of building design processes and good hospital design principles.
  • Experience of managing external Consultants and associated contracts.
  • Knowledge of change management practices tools and techniques.
