We are looking for a band 4 Data Analyst fixed term for 12 months, to join the Emergency Department Opt Out Testing project for blood borne virus testing, based at Leeds General Infirmary.

Working with the project lead, the individual will play a key role in supporting the data requirements for the project. The individual will need knowledge of data management and be able to support data activities, from data collection to data reporting. They must have a flexible approach to work, be highly organised, enjoy working individually as well as part of a larger team and have good keyboarding skills and the ability to use excel to an intermediate level as a lot of the work will be using excel and producing data reports and graphics.

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY

The aim of the Project Co-ordinator is to provide project and administration support to the Emergency Department Project which is one of West Yorkshire Liver Care Operational Delivery Networks elimination projects.

Provide day to day support for project activities which include project planning, risk and issue management, project reports

Assisting the team in the development of project plans for the Initiatives and monitor progress.

Carry out benchmarking or auditing activities in accordance with required protocols.

Design mechanisms for the collection, analysis and communication of complex data/information sets.

Ability and experience to carry out administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, mail handling, diary management, arranging meetings and events, taking minutes and following up actions where required.

Develop local policies and working procedures to ensure all documentation and data entry episodes follow the agreed standards of best practise.

Maintain reporting and monitoring systems to allow ease of access to current data on the project.

Ensure there are appropriate archive systems that allow the tracing of key decisions and audit trails.

Support evaluation of changes made by data collection, analysis and interpretation.

Contribute to the development and implementation of training programmes.

  • Can demonstrate good organisational and time management skills. Negotiation skills. Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to analyse complex data and communicate findings either by presentation or written report. IT literate in the use of MS Office products Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

Experience

Essential
  • The post holder must understand and have experience of project management approaches. It is essential that they have an understanding and working knowledge of the NHS plan and policies,
  • Significant experience working in a structured project environment. Evidence of experience gained working on change management project/s or can demonstrate a good understanding of change managemen
  • Ability to recognise project risks or issues and the implication for the project.
  • Ability to plan and organise complex activities, formulating and adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Evidence of working autonomously within the constraints of agreed policy & procedure.
  • Knowledge of the project management methodology.
  • Experience of working in or with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and patient / staff confidentiality requirements.
Desirable
  • Working in a Health or Social Care environment. Knowledge of the NHS recruitment and retention agenda
  • An understanding of NHS policy and procedure. Experience of working in the health or social care sector

Essential
