Lead Node.js Developer

You'll be leading a team of developers in creating high-performance, scalable Back End solutions for an impressive portfolio of enterprise clients.

Role Overview: In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge Node.js applications and APIs. As a key player in their team, you'll guide development processes, ensure robust architecture, and drive best practices for performance, security, and scalability. You'll also collaborate with a cross-functional team of Front End developers, product managers, and DevOps professionals to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable Node.js applications and APIs.
• Architect microservices and serverless solutions for high-performance applications.
• Manage and mentor a team of developers, ensuring code quality through reviews and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Front End, DevOps, product management) to deliver seamless solutions.
• Optimise application performance, scalability, and security.
• Stay ahead of the curve with the latest advancements in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Back End technologies.
• Manage technical documentation and maintain high coding standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of Back End development experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Must be degree educated with an IT/tech based degree with a minimum 2:1 grade
• Strong expertise in Node.js, Express.js, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and WebSockets.
• Proficiency in database management (SQL & NoSQL - eg, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and proven leadership abilities.
