News UK & Ireland Ltd - Engineering Technician - Mechatronics Multi-skilled Apprentice
You will work toward achieving Level 3 Advanced Engineering Technician qualification, attending our training centre (NWTC) on block release followed by day release for training and Further Education .The remainder of your time will be spent with your employer and you will be supported through your apprenticeship.
Role
- Working alongside experienced qualified staff, you will work supervised towards being multi skilled and responsible for a wide range of engineering tasks.
- Carry out maintenance as outlined within Planned Preventative Maintenance system.
- Fault find and carry out breakdown repairs.
- Monitor and interpret data to support efficient use and Business Improvement Techniques
- Follow instructions from Lead Engineers, ensure H&S is maintained, show due diligence. and comply with company policies and procedures.
Training

The remainder of your time will be spent with your employer. You will be supported through your apprenticeship. NWTC will deliver your training and monitor you regularly to ensure you achieve the standards required including core skills knowledge & behaviours in preparation for gateway/end point assessment. The expectation is to achieve at least Higher National Certificate qualification by the end of your apprenticeship.
- At the end of the apprenticeship, candidates will be suitably trained and continue their employment dependant on the business needs at the time.
- Further in-house and external training and development available.
