Senior Model Builder

Job summary

The role of Senior Model Builder is critical in ensuring that a range of planning solutions are built effectively and maintained in line with industry standards and organisational needs, whilst also reflecting the specific needs of customers with Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and the wider NHS.

The Senior Model Builder will work within a multi-disciplinary team providing expert model building advice and leadership support to Centre of Integrated Planning team, and support to the advanced analytics deployment lead in overseeing the solutions and models in operation.

The senior model builder will need to demonstrable experience in at least one of either Anaplan or Oracle EPM planning solutions and to support upskilling of the team and raising awareness of the capabilities of these solutions within an NHS context.

Main duties of the job

This post will provide expertise in managing and delivering the technical build of use case models, working both internally with junior model builders within the existing team and with external model building teams.

The post will actively manage the process of technical build through the stages of design, development and release. The Senior Model Builder is expected to be able to work across a range of projects simultaneously varying from rapid development of "Proof of Value" concept planning models, to more established "Production Ready" solutions.

This post will lead the specification of data requirements, working with the data integration and analytics team of AGEM and client sites to build data sourcing. Where data is incomplete or not readily available, the post holder will be expected to articulate how the solution can be adapted for changing requirements.

This post will lead the testing and validation of solutions with the integrated planning team to ensure these meet the needs of client sites.

Person Specification

Education and Experience

Essential
  • Educated to Bachelor's degree in computer/data science technical or equivalent data based subject area.
  • Previous experience of working in an analytics and model building environment within a complex organisation
  • Certified model builder qualifications in at least one of Anaplan or Oracle EPM technology solutions.
Desirable
  • Experience of model building within a public sector or healthcare context.
  • Additional training and education in specialist field to masters level in a relevant subject area including analytics, coding, data management, model building
