Microsoft 365 Adoption Specialist

Job summary

NHS South Yorkshire ICB is looking for a motivated individual to join our Software Transformation Team as a Microsoft 365 Adoption Specialist. The Software Transformation Team develops software, configures systems, and enables important data flows to improve population health outcomes for the people of South Yorkshire.

This role is focussed on the Microsoft 365 platform and related applications and services, particularly Power Automate, Power Apps, Microsoft Forms and SharePoint.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

  • Build solutions to automate business process using Power Automate, Microsoft Forms and SharePoint
  • Provide technical knowledge to help users configure systems and gain the most benefit from them
  • Provide expert advice about the suitability and use of a wide range of applications and services
  • Help staff and teams to design solutions which improve their work
  • Provide group training and consultancy sessions to help users improve their use of applications and services
  • Provide support and advice to users both interactively and by creating a range of help and knowledge resource
  • Support the wider delivery of Digital projects

The key skills and experience required are:

  • Experience of the Microsoft 365 platform
  • Ideally experience of developing solutions for Microsoft 365 using the Power Platform
  • Understanding of software development processes
  • Experience of dealing with structured data, e.g. within databases
  • Ideally experience of web application technologies, e.g. web site or app development, HTTP APIs
  • Ability to gather requirements, translate those into specification and solutions, and deliver those against a schedule

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Design, build and test software and data solutions that are complex or large scale which may require integration between systems, using agreed standards
  • Select and implement the appropriate technologies to deliver resilient, scalable and future-proofed solutions
  • Design solutions and services with security controls embedded, specifically engineered with mitigation of security threats as a core feature
  • Configure systems to enable to use of new solutions, or to improve the performance, security, reliability or compliance of existing solutions
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, enabling discussions within a multidisciplinary team
  • Gather customer requirements and translate those into a documented plan, against which a solution can be developed
  • Engage with end users and bring their needs and perspectives the design and development of solutions

Qualifications

Essential
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent specialist experience, backed up by additional and continual professional development.

Understanding

Essential
  • Understanding of cyber security, information governance, data standards and other compliance requirements affecting software design and deployment.
  • Understanding of NHS organisations, priorities and information flows.

  • Experience of acquiring, understanding and implementing user feedback in software design, build and testing.
  • Experience of providing line management to a team, providing direction, motivation and guidance, including reviewing performance of individuals.
  • Experience of to provide briefings to senior management.
  • Experience of working in the NHS.
